BRIGHAM CITY — A 57-year-old Ogden woman has died from injuries suffered in a single-car accident after she was ejected from her vehicle Saturday.
The woman was driving north on I-15 near mile marker 363 when she veered her Ford Explorer across the right lane into a pit where the vehicle overturned, causing her to be thrown from the car and land on a fence, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
A 25-year-old male and a 24-year-old female, who are also from Ogden, were traveling in the vehicle with the woman. The driver may have suffered a medical condition and passed out before the accident occurred, according to one of the passengers.
The driver suffered immediate serious injuries to both of her legs, as well as internal injuries, and was transported by helicopter from the scene in stable condition. She died after arrival to the hospital, prior to surgery.
Unlike the driver, both passengers were wearing seat belts. They were treated at the scene, and then taken to area hospitals by ground.
