TAYLORSVILLE — Police are asking for the public's help locating two men who robbed a Family Dollar store at gunpoint Sunday night.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said two men wearing hoodies and masks and brandishing handguns entered the store at 1649 W. 4200 South about 9:40 p.m., ordered two customers to the ground and demanded cash from the three store clerks.

Hoyal said the men took an undisclosed amount of money from the store, as well as property from the customers. Based on the testimony of one of the clerks, Hoyal said police believe one of the men was involved in another robbery that took place at the same Family Dollar store earlier this month.

Hoyal said Sunday's robbery was more aggressive than the earlier robbery, in that it involved two robbers and customers were ordered to the ground.

"We want to get them caught before somebody gets hurt," he said.

Individuals with information regarding the incident or the identity of the robbers are encouraged to contact the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
