MURRAY — A Murray man died Thursday night after he was pinned underneath a pickup truck in his driveway.

A woman called police about 8:30 p.m. when she discovered her husband "pinned partially" beneath a truck near 5900 S. 900 West, said Murray police officer Kenny Bass.

"She couldn't find her husband and came out and found him in the driveway, lying underneath a pickup truck," Bass said.

It appeared as if the man was working on something under the truck when it either rolled or fell on top of him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were unaware how long the man was stuck under the vehicle.

Murray police officer Kenny Bass suggested those working on vehicles should take precautions to prevent a vehicle from rolling or falling.

Bass suggested those working on vehicles should take precautions to prevent a vehicle from rolling or falling. But the limited information available about Thursday's case makes it difficult to determine whether he could have done anything to prevent the incident.

"It's tragic. Unfortunately there's not a lot of details behind it or a big long story behind it. It's just, you know, an unfortunate accident," Bass said.

Police are waiting to notify all family members of the death before releasing the man's name.
