SALT LAKE CITY — Rudy Gobert made a rookie mistake.

It is a tradition for rookies to deliver donuts to the pre-game shoot around. Gobert forgot to bring donuts before Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics and he paid a price.

When he left the arena he discovered his car was filled with buttered popcorn.

“I knew it was bad,” he said when he opened the door.

Rudy spent the next hour cleaning the popcorn out of his car before he could leave the parking lot at EnergySolutions Arena parking lot.

“I knew something was coming,” he said. “I could feel it, but I didn't know what. I was surprised.”

Rudy believes Richard Jefferson is responsible for the popcorn prank. He said he won’t make the same mistake again and also has a warning for future Utah Jazz rookies.

“I guarantee you that the rookies, if I’m here in the next few years, they’ll get some too.”
