LEHI — Snow was made in Utah County Saturday, but there wasn't any skiing going on.
With the help of a $20,000 grant, the Utah Highway Patrol provided a winter driving class for teenagers at the Emergency Vehicle Operations course in Lehi. The teens, organizers say, can benefit from the extra instruction.
"Utah Department of Public Safety crash data shows that in December 2012, teens were in 19 percent of all crashes, but they are only 9 percent of licensed drivers," a prepared statement from the UHP said.
Instructors ran student drivers through a variety of different exercises to teach them how to react to winter driving conditions.
