CENTERVILLE — A woman who was driving nearly 100 miles per hour while driving in the wrong direction on Legacy Highway was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving Saturday, according to Centerville police.
Vickie Lynn Diamond, 36, was driving in a silver Chrysler 300 when she passed a Centerville police sergeant, who was on his way home at 2 a.m., according to Cenerville Assistant Chief Paul Child. The Chrysler had been traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 89 when it entered Legacy Highway and continued to go in the wrong direction.
Police shut down traffic in the northbound lanes at Parrish Lane in Centerville and 500 South in Woods Cross. Officers deployed road spikes just north of Parrish Lane and a roadblock had been set up at 1275 North in Centerville.

A high-speed chase through southwest Salt Lake City ended with a federal fugitive in custody, according to the Salt Lake Unified Police.No one was injured, but officers said Diamond passed five other cars while traveling in the wrong way between Farmington and Centerville.
Diamond allegedly left a bar called Liquid Joe's shortly before the chase, according to Child. She was arrested on suspicion of third-degree felony evading, reckless driving, speeding, going the wrong way and DUI. She was booked into the Davis County Jail.
Child said she had an alcohol concentration of .168, according to a breath test taken an hour after she encountered police.
