PROVO — Sentencing for convicted killer Martin MacNeill will be postponed until after his attorneys and the state have a chance to respond to a motion for an appeal.

In November, a jury found MacNeill, 57, guilty of murdering his wife, Michele MacNeill, and of obstruction of justice for trying to make the April 2007 death appear accidental.

A hearing to address the motion for a new trial was set for Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. in Provo's 4th District Court.

MacNeill, a former Pleasant Grove doctor, also faces a two-day trial in Utah County that is set to begin on Feb. 4. He is accused of groping one of his daughters on two occasions in 2007.
