BOUNTIFUL — A man with a long history of burglary has been arrested in another burglary, just two days after being charged with similar crimes.

On Monday, Taylor Robert Bischoff, 28, was charged in 2nd District Court with two counts of burglary, a second-degree felony; three counts of theft, a third-degree felony; and two counts of burglary of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor.

Bischoff burglarized two garages and two vehicles on Dec. 23 in Bountiful, according to charging documents.

On Wednesday, Bountiful police and an officer from Adult Probation and Parole went to a house, 2295 S. 500 West, to make a check on a woman on parole. When they got there, they found Bischoff hiding under the stairs, according to a Davis County Jail report.

As police continued to search the house, they found several credit cards, several vehicle keys and a Nikon camera, the report states. Some of the items were identified as stolen during a residential burglary in Centerville earlier this month.

Arresting documents state Bischoff had been going through neighborhoods looking for open garage doors and unlocked cars. Detectives also said a rather large set of footprints at several burglary scenes helped them with this case.

Detectives are now trying to figure out where all the allegedly stolen items came from, and they asked media to publish the pictures to see if anyone recognizes the items. The items are also pictured on BPD's Facebook page.

"(We) searched the house. We recovered all the shoes, both sets of shoes, and we matched them up and we asked him about it and he said they were his shoes," said Det. Todd Miya, Bountiful Police Department.

Investigators believe Bischoff can now be connected to at least seven garage and vehicle burglaries in Centerville since the beginning of the year, as well as a vehicle theft in Bountiful, according to the report.

He was arrested Wednesday for investigation of eight counts of residential burglary, three counts of possession of stolen property and vehicle theft.

Bischoff was convicted in 2010 of a couple of felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to up to five years at the Utah State Prison. In 2006, he was convicted of illegally possessing and using a credit card and was sentenced to up to five years in prison, according to court records. That same year he was convicted of felony drug possession. Contributing: Mike Anderson
