HEBER CITY — A Duchesne man was booked into jail after he allegedly tried to force a woman into his car at a 7-11.
At about 6 p.m. on Saturday, Shane Black, 47, allegedly attempted to forcibly put a woman into his vehicle at the 7-11 on 800 South Main Street in Heber, according to police.
The woman was able to pull away from Black, and when a customer noticed what was happening, he intervened.
Black fled the scene going north on Main Street in a white van, police said.
A Utah Highway Patrol officer noticed the vehicle just north of Heber and was able to stop Black without reported incident.
Police said the woman was "shaken up, but unharmed."
Black was booked into Wasatch County Jail on suspicion of attempted kidnapping as well as an open container violation, possession of paraphernalia and a lane travel violation, according to police.
"Heber City Police is very proud of the citizen who took the courage to step forward and help a person in need," a Heber City Police Department Facebook post said.
