DRAPER — The road to adoption can often be a long and lonely one. Each Wednesday, KSL presents the story of a child living in Utah who doesn't have a home. Jadyn is the Wednesday's Child of the week.

Jadyn is the type of kid who has passion and enthusiasm for just about everything he does.

"I love to sing," said Jadyn, 13. "I love to dance. I love school. I just love it."

So, it's easy to imagine his excitement when he learned he would receive the VIP treatment at The Living Planet Aquarium Wednesday afternoon. The aquarium was closed, preparing for its big move, but aquarium staff opened their doors just for Jadyn.

Inside the dimmed rooms, Jadyn's smile was like a beacon of light.

"Oh my gosh, dude," he said, peering into the tanks. "Oh, look at them. They're so cute."

But his smile faded a little when asked about his past.

I'd rather be with people who care about me.

"It sucked, to tell you the truth," said Jadyn, whose biological parents were unable to raise him.

He's been in and out of foster care since he was a toddler.

"I'd rather be with people who care about me," he said.

But that's not the only challenge he faces. Jadyn suffers from a seizure disorder that affects his short-term memory.

Despite all the struggles he's faced, Jadyn isn't bitter or unhappy. In fact, he's got an outlook on life many people could learn from.

"I just think about all the people who care about me," Jadyn said.
