BRIGHAM CITY — A Brigham City woman said someone tried to lure her two kids into a car to look at Halloween costumes.
Police said this is the second report of a possible attempted kidnapping in the past few weeks.
Both reports came from the northeast part of town, but the details are very different.
On Tuesday, Melissa Christensen said her kids were walking home from school together along 200 East when an older woman in a white crossover vehicle pulled over and stopped to talk.
"They described her as a grandma," Christensen said. "She asked them if they'd had their Halloween costumes yet. ... She said 'Well, I have some in my car, get in, and I'll show you.' "
Christensen says her kids, a 10-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, ran a block and a half straight to a neighbor's front door.
"[They were] just really worried and crying and scared," said neighbor Jenny Hamson. "[They] just said 'A lady stopped us in a white car.' "
Christensen said her kids were terrified by the incident and didn't even want to go to school.

Lt. Mike Nelson said it's important to investigate every such call.
"I'd rather go on a thousand suspicious calls than have something really happen," Nelson said.
Police said people in the community have been on edge over the last two weeks.
Last Wednesday, a mother named Nicole — she declined to give her last name — said a man in a maroon truck tried to take her daughter in Brigham City.
Since then, Nelson said the number of suspicious person reports have gone up.
"When school's getting out, we're patrolling those whole areas to watch for anything suspicious that we see," Nelson said.
