OGDEN — Roughly 30 people were evacuated from their homes Sunday afternoon after a vehicle backed into a natural gas meter and ruptured a gas line, according to Ogden fire officials.
The ruptured meter is located on the side of a home at 835 Binford St., fire officials said, and 12 homes were evacuated in response to the leak. Questar Gas personnel responded to the leak with the assistance of Ogden fire crews.
"We have Questar on scene, and they're going to be doing some digging to where they can shut this line off and get it under control," said Eric Bauman, Ogden deputy fire chief.
