AMERICAN FORK — Police picked up a suspected bank robber Friday when they found him shopping at the mall.

After a series of tips, police say they believe Douglas Tyler Massey, 26, of Provo, is the same man who robbed a Mountain America Credit Union on Wednesday.

Massey allegedly entered the bank, 893 W. State, about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday and presented a teller with a note demanding cash. The teller complied and Massey fled, police said.

Tips led police to University Mall in Orem, where they arrested Massey on Friday without incident in the parking lot.

Massey was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of bank robbery and possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
