SALT LAKE CITY — A 16-year-old Salt Lake girl, who has been missing since July 16, returned home Sunday.
Mharina Acciaio was last seen July 16 when she was dropped off at City Creek Center. Sunday, Salt Lake police detective Rick Wall said Acciaio showed up at her house. Wall said she was in good condition.
The girl's father had said that his daughter is bipolar and functions at the mental capacity of a 5-year-old. He said she needs to take medication twice a day.
But police also had noted Acciaio has a history of running away and that she was familiar with the downtown Salt Lake area.
Where Acciaio was for nearly two weeks, and whether foul play was involved, was still being investigated Monday. Police have previously stated that they did not suspect foul play.
