(KSL News) -- A reunion of World War Two veterans in Tooele today.

More than 70 vets and their families turned out for a party at this museum, featuring the private collection of nearly 200 military vehicles.

Next Monday is the 61st anniversary of "VE Day" or Victory over Europe Day-- many of these Utah vets were in Europe the day the war ended.

Today's museum visit was especially memorable for Verle Breinholt of Salt Lake. Verle discovered that the actual tank-destroyer that he drove from Normandy to Germany while in battle is now restored in Tooele!

Verle Breinholt, US Army Veteran: "It's unbelievable but I had a picture of my tank, and so it had the serial number on it, and they was able to check it and find that it was one that was retrieved..."

Many of the vets at this gathering have been helping out with the production of a PBS documentary on World War Two, and this party was a gesture of thanks.
