HARRISON COUNTY, W. Va. — A boy is trying to replace his LEGO collection after thousands of the bricks spilled onto a West Virginia highway earlier this week, snarling traffic until crews could get the toys cleaned up.
The spill occurred on I-79 in Harrison County at around 5:15 Sunday afternoon, according to WDTV. Traffic was down to one lane while the LEGO bricks were taken care of.
Anmoore, W.Va., firefighter Eric McClain was on the scene of the spill and posted pictures of the mess to Facebook. Comments helped fill in the blanks of a largely untold story.
Tiffany Lantz, the apparent owner of the LEGO bricks, commented on the post to tell the story of what happened. She said the bricks belong to her 11-year-old son, J.R., and were in totes strapped to the top of the family's Durango. The strap came loose and the totes fell off the vehicle, according to Lantz.
He cried it seemed like forever, but I tried to recover as many as I could cause I don't have the money to buy him anymore.

"He cried it seemed like forever, but I tried to recover as many as I could cause I don't have the money to buy him anymore," she said.
Commenters responded by offering to send Lantz's son replacement bricks or money to buy new ones.
"He is a tough little boy he cried but we have been thru a lot lately having to moving constantly," Lantz said. "We r hoping soon to get to one spot & stay 4 awhile they where what kept him occupied."
