OGDEN — Police are looking for answers after a 24-year-old man with multiple stab wounds showed up Tuesday morning at an assisted living home, pulling the fire alarm to get residents' attention.

The Ogden Police Department began receiving calls at 6 a.m. Tuesday reporting a man "running up and down the hall, banging on doors and screaming for help" at St. Benedict's Manor, 3000 Polk Street, according to Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford.

While police were reporting to the scene, the man who had apparently been running up and down the halls pulled the fire alarm. Police discovered him in front of the complex with five stab wounds total to his chest, back, right bicep and right hand.

He was able to escape and ran through the complex trying to get someone to help him.

"It was a little crazy. We had residents leaving or trying to get out of apartments because of the fire alarm, then we had residents that had called 911 and were scared and didn't want to leave, but then the fire alarm went off," Ledford said. "It was a little messy for a bit."

Ledford said the man has been "less than cooperative," but from what police could gather, he was in one of the apartments late Monday night into Tuesday morning when an altercation took place.

"In the process, he was attacked and stabbed multiple times," Ledford said. "He was able to escape and ran through the complex trying to get someone to help him."

The name of the man had not been released as of Tuesday. Ledford said his injuries were non-life-threatening and that he is being treated at McKay-Dee Hospital. There are no suspects in custody.

"We're still looking for suspects, but he's not being very cooperative," Ledford said. "We'll figure it out; it's just going to take a little."
