COLUMBUS — Police responded Tuesday afternoon to a shooting with multiple victims that ended near the Columbus, Ohio, temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The shooting was reported Tuesday at about 3:45 p.m. MST on the west side of Columbus, according to 10TV. It had nothing to do with the temple, its attendees or the LDS church, according to authorities.
Police told NBC4 Soth Sin, 33 and Neng Sith, 52, were in a 2010 Toyota Corolla in the parking lot of the temple when Sokkha Chant, 65, confronted the couple.
Sith fled, at which point Chant entered the car and shot Sin and then himself, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Sith was not struck by gunfire.
Sin and Chant are apparently husband and wife, according to Columbus police documents. Police said there has been a prior domestic incident involving the couple.
Sin and Chant were transported to area hospitals in critical but stable condition, according to police. Homicide detectives were at the scene Tuesday investigating, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday night.
