Several teams represented the state well at holiday tournaments and there were plenty of memorable highlights including two game-winning buzzer beaters.

The first happened back on December 20th when Davis guard Abel Porter grabbed a loose ball and launched a half-court shot with no time to spare to beat Olympus. Porter's shot was recognized by SportsCenter as No. 2 on their Top Ten Plays and has almost 45 thousand views on YouTube.

The second happened on January 4th when Park City's Bosten Van Der Veur sunk a 40-foot shot at the buzzer to knock off rival Wasatch 47-46.

Lone Peak remains No. 1 in the 5A KSL Coaches Poll and is now ranked 5th nationally in USA Today's Super 25.

Weber is ranked 2nd followed by Davis who won the Energy Classic in Gillette, Wyo., but was upset by rival Viewmont on Friday.

Brighton is No. 4 after a solid showing at a holiday tournament in California and a win over Bingham last week.

Jordan moves into the top five after a strong showing in their own holiday tournament.

Bingham fell from the rankings but represented Utah well over the holidays winning the San Diego Holiday Classic.

Orem won the consolation championship at the prestigious Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which featured some of the top teams in the country. The Tigers remain No. 1 followed by Timpview, Sky View, Bountiful and Springville which moves into the top five for the first time this season.

Judge remains No. 1 in 3A followed by Morgan, Cedar, Desert Hills and Spanish Fork.

Wasatch Academy had an impressive showing at the Tip Off Classic in Provo. They knocked off 5A's No. 2 Weber before falling to Judge in the championship game. They are No. 1 in 2A followed by South Sevier, undefeated Beaver, Gunnison and Manti.

Bryce Valley has won seven straight games and moves up to the No. 1 spot in 1A. They are followed by Duchesne, Monticello, Panguitch and Layton Christian.
