We share plenty of news that is sad and tough to hear. Today we want to focus on the positive. We've collected some of our favorite stories from 2012.

Mia's Miracle

A year ago, a little girl living in an orphanage in Ukraine had no idea a family in Utah was racing to save her from a tragic fate. Now their lives have all been blessed in ways no one could have imagined.

Irish Dancers

English is the official language in Ireland, although some words or word useage might sound a little foreign to American ears. We consulted with Galway natives Alan Scariff and Kieran Hardiman about their vocabulary.

RSL Anthem

Heard at Rio Tinto for the first time this year was a stirring anthem, one part rallying cry, one part Irish pub tune. It's a kind of secret weapon that's an especially effective way of kicking up the passion its Real Salt Lake fans with a tip of the hat to RSL's home pitch.

Lindsey's Home

A young woman is now living in her dream home thanks to her grandfather and the generous outpouring of homebuilders in southern Utah.

Lindsey Smith, 21, was born with arthrogryposis amyoplasia multiplex congenital, meaning she has limited use of her legs, and no use of her arms and hands. She hasn't let that keep her from creating a full life and develop her skills as an artist. She has learned to maneuver with uncanny precision, studies art at Dixie State College and lives independently.

Lucin Population: 1

There are plenty of places in Utah where you can just get away from it all. Most people, though, eventually come back. Ivo Zdarsky isn't one of them.

Piano Prodigy

Heston's life was all laid out in front of him -- take over the family farm one day, do what his dad and granddad did, and one day turn it all over to his kids. But that's not what he has in mind.
