SALT LAKE CITY — The battle was on in District One where Congressman Rob Bishop was heavily favored in his re-election bid this year, and even Bishop admitted that he has faced a spirited challenge from Democrat Donna McAleer.
Bishop, however, pulled ahead with 62 percent of the vote, when 27 of the 656 precincts in the district reported.
McAleer has worked with the resources she has to take on powerful incumbent Bishop, who is running for his sixth term in office and is popular enough to have at least 60 percent of the vote each election.
Republican candidate, Congressman Bishop was first elected in 2002 with a 61 percent vote.
