HYRUM — The Mountain Crest Mustangs weren't given much of a chance against their rival Logan on the road.
They didn't seem to care.
They got an inspired performance from running back Eddy Hall who also played some quarterback leading the Mustangs to a 17-10 upset of the Grizzlies.
Skyline has bounced back nicely from a 1-3 start. A win over Olympus Friday gives them another outright region title, something very few that follow high school football in Utah thought possible. But the Rock currently resides at Olympus. The Titans have won three straight over their rival since the series resumed. A win for the Titans would give them a share of the title.Maple Mountain at Orem, 7 p.m. Wednesday
None of these teams will catch Timpview for the region title but this game has playoff implications. The winner will likely claim the No. 2 seed in the region and host a playoff game. The team that doesn't win will have a much tougher road in the postseason.Bountiful at Woods Cross, 7 p.m.
This game had the potential to be so much bigger a few weeks ago but this is still a very important region game with a home playoff game on the line. Not to mention the fact that this is a heated rivalry with Woods Cross looking for their first win over Bountiful since 1989. That's 21 consecutive losses in the series for Woods Cross. This may be their best chance.Riverton at Lone Peak, 7 p.m., Wednesday
The winner of this game still has a shot to share or win a region title. The team that doesn't win faces the possibility of missing the postseason all together. That should add some intensity to this game.East at Highland, 7 p.m.
This has been a great rivalry over the years and that won't change on Friday in Salt Lake City. East can complete a perfect region record and clinch an outright region title. If the Rams can stun the Leopards they can share a region title, and keep their hopes of hosting a playoff game alive.
The win vaults Mountain Crest from unranked to No. 3 in the latest 4A KSL Coaches Poll. East still holds the top spot after another impressive victory. They knocked off then 4th ranked Bountiful on the road 47-13.
They are followed in the poll by No. 2 ranked Timpview which also rolled over Salem Hills 57-0.
Logan falls to No. 4 followed by Maple Mountain who is ranked in the Coaches Poll for the first time ever. The Golden Eagles are 7-1 this season, tied with Timpview for the 2nd best record in 4A. Their only loss is to Timpview.
Jordan survived a scare from Cottonwood to remain No. 1 in 5A.
Syracuse is still No. 2 and Alta holds strong at No. 3. Pleasant Grove's upset of Lone Peak brings change to the final two spots.
Northridge moves up to No. 4 while Bingham returns to the poll at No. 5.
There were no changes in this week's 3A poll. Hurricane is still the No. 1 team in 3A.
Juan Diego remains No. 2 after a very impressive road win over Wasatch that all but assures them another region title.
Stansbury is also undefeated at 8-0, one of just seven teams in the state that can make that claim. They hold at No. 3.
They are followed by Dixie and Spanish Fork who both steamrolled region opponents.
San Juan had no trouble with Beaver in an important 2A south battle. They remain No. 1 followed by the same four teams, Manti, South Summit, Millard and Beaver.
Duchesne had no trouble in their big road test at Rich. They are No. 1 followed by Rich, Diamond Ranch, Summit Academy and Altamont. Diamond Ranch stunned a ranked Monticello team on Friday.
