WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Police in central Colorado are looking for a break in their search for a missing 10-year-old girl.

Jessica Ridgeway was reported missing Friday after she failed to show up at school. She was last seen Friday as she walked to a park where she meets classmates before school.

Some 800 volunteers searched for the girl on Saturday.

On Sunday, search crews found Jessica's backpack on a sidewalk about six miles from her Superior home.

Police would not discuss the contents of the bag, saying only that it belonged to the girl. They also say the item has led investigators to expand their search for the girl to the Rock Creek subdivision of Superior.

Donna Moss, the girl's great grandmother., says Jessica's parents are devastated and they just want the little girl back.

Moss says police have already been to her home hundreds of miles from where the girl went missing.

"They asked if they could search my house and I said, 'sure,' because we'd do anything in the world to get her back. Safely... alive... However we can have her back, we want her back as soon as we can get her," Moss said.

Police are asking anyone, children or adults, to contact them if they know anything about the backpack or the missing 10-year-old.

Jessica weighs 80 pounds and is 4-feet-10 with blue eyes and blond shoulder-length hair.

"If you see something or know something please, please, please just call. Even if it's the wrong information, just give us any information that you have," Moss said.

"It makes me feel good knowing that there's people who care. But... there's never enough people. We can always use a few more so if you're out there and believe... please, please keep your eyes open and watch for Jessica."
