OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Dara Torres has no regrets about the way her swimming career ended.
She was back in Omaha on Monday to promote the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials, which will be held at the CenturyLink Center for the third straight time.
The five-time Olympian ended her competitive career in Omaha in the 2012 trials. At age 45 she finished fourth in the 50-meter freestyle and was nine-hundredths of a second away from making the U.S. team.
Torres lives in Boston and is spokeswoman for USA Swimming's "SwimToday" program, which encourages youngsters to join swim teams and touts the body-and-mind benefits of the sport. She also trains for fun with the Cambridge Masters Swim Club at Harvard.
