LEON, Mexico (AP) — Wes Roach won the El Bosque Mexico Championship on Sunday for his first Web.com Tour title, beating Kevin Tway and Patton Kizzire by four strokes.

Roach, the 26-year-old former Duke player from Knoxville, Tennessee, closed with a 4-under 68 in windy conditions to finish at 17-under 271 at El Bosque Golf Club.

"It was a pretty great feeling when I tapped in on the last hole," Roach said. "My first win as a professional and my first on the Web.com Tour is pretty special. I feel great. Inside I was going crazy all day, but I kept telling myself to believe and trust in what I was doing."

Roach earned $126,000 to jump from 37th to second on the money list with $166,917. He won after being disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard in the Louisiana Open.

"This means so much," Roach said. "Hopefully, it helps me get back to the PGA Tour next year."

Roach pulled away with four birdies in a five-hole stretch. He holed out from a bunker on the par-4 11th during the run.

"The bunker shot at 11 was the shot of the day, no question," Roach said. "If you give me that 100 times I might make it once. That was huge. Anything inside of 5 feet would have been a great shot. If it doesn't hit the hole, there's a good chance I'm looking at 5 and that would have changed everything. ... I don't really give fist pumps. When that went in, I gave it a good one."

Kizzire shot a 67, and Tway had a 71.
