HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — The New York Red Bulls have lent defender Karl Ouimette to the Jacksonville Armada of the North American Soccer League for the remainder of the 2016 season.

The Red Bulls announced the move on Friday.

Ouimette signed with New York before the 2015 season and has made 18 appearances for the Red Bulls. The Canadian international played three seasons for the Montreal Impact before joining New York.

Ouimette has made 38 appearances for Montreal and New York in his five-year MLS career, including 28 starts.

His playing time with the Red Bulls was limited with a deep defense that included Gideon Baah, Aurelien Collin, Chris Duvall, Conor Lade and Kemar Lawrence.

The Armada are coached by former Red Bull and MetroStar goaltender Tony Meola.
