MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley will travel with the team for its first two games of the Western Conference semifinals against the Golden State Warriors, but his status for the series is uncertain.
Memphis coach Dave Joerger discussed Conley's plans Friday before practice. Conley wasn't on the court as Joerger spoke.
Conley sustained multiple facial fractures in the first round against Portland. He was elbowed by CJ McCollum in Game 3 and had surgery Monday. He attended the Grizzlies' series-clinching victory Wednesday, his eye visibly swollen.
The team has said the swelling must subside before Conley can be fitted for a mask he will need when he returns.
