INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Guard Danny Green returns to San Antonio's starting lineup Monday as the Spurs try to win a franchise-record 18th consecutive game.

Green sat out the last two games with inflammation in his right foot and has missed three of the last four.

About 75 minutes before tip, coach Gregg Popovich said Green would start at Indiana (52-22), which has the best record in the East. Popovich said earlier Monday backups Matt Bonner (strained right calf) and Aron Baynes (cracked rib) would not play.

San Antonio (57-16) has the NBA's best record but Popovich acknowledged that the likelihood is that the Spurs will loses soon and they might need to get "slapped" to keep them grounded after all the wins.
