SALT LAKE CITY — British rock musician Sting will perform with the Utah Symphony in August, and the show will benefit Zion National Park.
The performance will take place Aug. 31 at USANA Amphitheater in West Valley City. Tickets are now on sale for Utah Symphony subscribers and donors. Sales for the general public open at 10 a.m. Friday, according to the Utah Symphony website.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Zion Forever Project in conjunction with the southern Utah park’s centennial celebration, according to the symphony website. The park was established in November 1919.
Zion Forever Project is the official nonprofit partner for the park, according to the organization’s website.
Sting will be performing symphonic arrangements of songs from both his solo career and his tenure as frontman of The Police, according to a press release from the Utah Symphony. The performance will include songs such as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” "Roxanne,” "Englishman in New York” and “Desert Rose.”
Rob Mathes will conduct the performance.
As a result of the recent partial government shutdown, the National Park Service may have lost up to $11 million, according to The Hill.

Utah Symphony’s 2019 season will also include a performance with musician Ben Folds, as well as performances of music from popular films, including “Casablanca,” “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.”
