NEW YORK (AP) — "In Transit," a long-gestating, a cappella romantic comedy set in the New York City subway, has found the express train to Broadway.
Producer Janet B. Rosen said Monday that the new musical about the intertwining lives of 11 New Yorkers underground will play the Circle in the Square Theatre this fall.
The show has a book, music and lyrics by Academy Award winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez of "Frozen" fame, James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth. Vocal arrangements are by Deke Sharon, of the a cappella "Pitch Perfect" movies.
"In Transit" will be directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, who helmed the recent Broadway revival of "Anything Goes" and "Nice Work If You Can Get It."
Casting, design team and production dates will be announced later.
