THE SHELTER — The holidays are here, and everyone deserves a present! As people around the globe open their gifts, rest assured knowing that one shelter is giving all our furry friends a merry Christmas, too.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in Ireland according to their Twitter bio, and they decided their pups needed to know what good boys and girls they were this season.

So, with the combined donations of their supporters and staff, they lined up toys in their Rehoming Center and did something special: let the pups pick their own presents.

Have you ever seen such overjoyed animals? Look at their names in the bottom corner! Cuteness overload!

Happy looks happy, Esme has the couch all to herself and Tiny is devouring that chew toy whole! The puppies don’t seem to know what they’re doing, but their hearts are in the right place.

The upbeat music, squealing of new toys being loved, and sugar-high energy of enthusiastic dogs are the epitome of Christmas wonder.

‘Tis the season to give gifts to others and watch their faces light up. Beyond just the people around us, I hope we can remember man’s best friend this holiday season. Because if all dogs go to heaven, none of them deserve coal in their stockings, either.
