ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Police say a small airplane has crashed in southwestern Utah, killing the two people aboard. A Washington County Sheriff's spokesman says the Life Flight plane went down near the town of Santa Clara. The identities of the deceased are not being released yet. It's the first fatal plane crash reported in Washington County since 2012.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal auditors say computer troubles and bad accounting practices are leading to inefficiency in the storage of U.S. military ammunition, including ammo stored in Utah at the Tooele Army Depot. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that in some cases, the accounting problems lead to ammunition being needlessly destroyed. That includes everything from .45-caliber bullets to missiles.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Organizers of Utah's biggest parade have turned down a float proposal from a Mormon faith-related LGBT group, citing too much potential for controversy. But a Mormons Building Bridges co-founder says the organization proposed a convertible car of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and have Mormon heritage. The group aims to improve the relationship between Utah's gay community and the Mormon church.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) — Police in Salt Lake County say they have located a toddler who was missing after her caretaker was supposed to turn her over to authorities. Unified Police say that had been dropped off at the home of a relative who then contacted police Wednesday. Salt Lake County's Sheriff says investigators are still piecing together where 15-month-old Sophea Larsen has been.
