CRAZY TOWN — Naming a baby can be hard. It takes thought, diplomacy and apparently, according to an almost dad, it takes crowdsourcing from the Internet.

A man who identifies himself only as "Stephen" and his wife are expecting a baby girl in April. The dad-to-be launched a naming campaign on the popular user-generated news site Reddit; so far over 75,000 votes have been cast for the first and middle name of the unsuspecting wee one.

“Much to the disbelief of my wife, I have decided to let the Internet name my daughter,” Stephen wrote on his baby-naming website.

Stephen has set a provision to keep his child safe from the abuse of a bad name.

“Unfortunately Internet I know better than to trust you,” Stephen wrote. “We will ultimately be making the final decision. Alas my daughter shall not be named WackyTaco692. Sorry guys, the wife wouldn't go for a free-for-all.”

At current, Cthulu All-Spark leads the way. Not to fret, the top slot has changed almost daily and Amelia Mae and Luna Rose, both respectable and usable names, have also been vying for numero uno.

First names also appearing in the top 10: Megatron, Zelda, Laquisha, Streetlamp (yes, you read that right), Charlotte, Not Zelda and Slagathor. (What in the world, Internet?)

Luckily, given Stephen’s clause of override capability, this sweet baby girl will not have to sojourn through life with the name Slagathor Of-The-Sea, if that be the winning moniker. It will make for a good story though, to tell friends that it was almost her name.
