SALT LAKE CITY — Dec. 14 will mark the one-year anniversary of the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn.
The tragedy claimed the lives of 20 children and 6 adults. A year later, investigators still do not know why the shooter, Adam Lanza, stormed the school and killed so many people before turning the gun on himself.
One of the students killed was Emilie Parker, whose parents are from Ogden. To mark the anniversary, Emilee's mother worked with Shadow Mountain to create a video sharing how she and her family are working to honoring her daughter's memory through giving to others.
Through the kindness of others, Alissa Parker said her family has been able to work through their grief and start giving back to the world, as Emilee would have wanted them to do.
