EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State has hired Mark Snyder as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator.

The school announced Snyder's addition Friday. He was the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M before being fired in November.

Michigan State lost defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi recently when he became the head coach at Pittsburgh. Linebackers coach Mike Tressel and secondary coach Harlon Barnett were promoted to co-defensive coordinator roles.

Snyder has worked with Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio before. He was the linebackers coach at Ohio State from 2001-03 while Dantonio was the defensive coordinator.

Dantonio says Snyder has "done it all" in his career. Snyder was the head coach at Marshall, his alma mater, from 1995-99.
