NEW YORK, Aug 29, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The average U.S. worker admits to wasting more than two hours per day, not including lunch or scheduled breaks, Salary.com said Monday.
A survey by Salary.com and America Online found the average worker admitting to wasting 2.09 hours per eight-hour day.
That is about twice what employers think their workers are wasting, the survey found.
Salary.com calculated that employers spend $759 billion per year on salaries for which real work was expected, but not actually performed.
The survey was based on responses from 10,044 people surveyed in May and June.
