(KSL News) -- A hiker was rescued by Salt Lake search and rescue workers after spending a long, cold night on Mount Olympus.
Connel Mackenzie went for a late afternoon hike on the peak yesterday and then got stranded when night fell. He called a friend for help, who then called 9-1-1.
Connel Mackenzie, Rescued Hiker: "Thinking I was just doing a little day hike, I did just about everything wrong you can do for an overnight journey like that."
Search and rescue crews reached Mackenzie during the night, but decided it was too risky to try and bring him down before sunrise.
Mackenzie is in good condition.
