TAYLORSVILLE -- Unified police on Thursday released to KSL Newsradio a segment of a 911 call made by the woman accused of shooting to death her former daughter-in-law.

A woman who identified herself as Mary Nance Hanson called dispatchers on Jan. 29, moments after police say she fired multiple shots into the car where 34-year-old Tetyana Nikitina was sitting.

Police did not release a segment where it is reported that Hanson admitted to firing the shots.

On the recording, one of the dispatchers handling the call asked her, "Did you see someone shooting a gun?"

Hanson only replied, "She's in her car."

Later, the dispatcher asked her about the car. "She's in her boyfriend's car. She works here at the Head Start, and she had just gotten off work," Hanson said.

The dispatcher asked if Hanson was still on the scene. "Yep, sure am, waiting for the cops," Hanson replied.

Investigators say Nikitina was shot four times in the head as horrified witnesses looked on. It happened at the school where Nikitina worked. There were no children at the school that day, but teachers and others were there.

Nikitina was Hanson's former daughter-in-law. Nikitina and her ex-husband, Dale Jankowski, had been involved in a bitter court fight over custody of the couple's children.

Hanson was eventually charged with first-degree murder.
