(KSL News) -- A small fire is burning today between Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Officials say the blaze has consumed about a half an acre in the Twin Peaks Wilderness area, which is a part of the Wasatch -Cache National Forest.
The fire started on Wednesday.
The National Forest Service says because the blaze is so small and isn't threatening structures, they plan to let it burn itself out.
Forest rangers say allowing the fire to burn out naturally is good for the environment, and allows them to focus their fire fighting resources on other areas.
