PROVO, Utah (Aug. 4, 2003) -- Mountain West Conference and ESPN officials today announced the Boise State-BYU football game, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 31 has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 30. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

In an effort to solidify its national football broadcast schedule, ESPN recently contacted both schools to see if each would be willing to move the game from Friday night to Thursday, which also meant switching from ESPN2 to ESPN.

"Initially, we were a little reluctant to play a home game on Halloween night," BYU athletics director Val Hale said. "When ESPN asked if we would be willing to play on Thursday, instead of Friday, we jumped at the chance."
