LAS VEGAS (AP) - Mallary Gillespie scored 20 points to lead Brigham Young to a 72-40 victory over Air Force in Wednesday's quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference women's tournament.
Lauren Riley added 12 points for the Cougars (22-8), who shot 51 percent from the floor and held Air Force to 28 percent shooting.
BYU broke away from a 10-10 tie with a 19-0 run that ended with five minutes left in the first half. Gillespie had four points during the spurt.
Air Force got no closer than 17 points afterward.
Alecia Steele led the Falcons (6-23) with 12 points, but scored just one point after halftime.
