SALT LAKE CITY -- Students at the Reid School in Salt Lake City are lending their hands to help keep other hands warm.

The student group is one of several at various schools that are sorting donated gloves, hats and scarves to go to schools and homes in the community.

Students are also putting together hygiene kits for Helping Hands for Haiti.

"Everyone can help," said 8th grader Julia Corbett. "Everyone has something to do that they could be a part of to help out over the world, and we can help other people, not just people in our community."

School lunch business Lunchboxers and the Utah group One Heart Foundation will distribute the winter clothing to needy families in Utah.
