OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Three New York men who stole nearly 40 iPods last year from a Utah store by stashing them in a special pair of oversized jeans have been sentenced.

Yesterday, a judge ordered 34-year-old Hector Gonzalez, 24-year-old Peter Sanchez and 24-year-old Daniel Garcia to spend up to five years in prison. All three are from the Bronx.

Police say two of the men distracted employees at a Target store in Riverdale last October --- while the other opened a display case and hid the iPods in his jeans.

The pants had bags on the inside that were lined with material that fooled magnetic detectors at the door. The pant legs were then tied off with shoelaces.

Meanwhile --- Pennsylvania wants to prosecute Gonzalez and Sanchez on similar charges. An extradition hearing is set April 12th.
