(KSL News) Materialism, not money, may be responsible for most problems in marriage.

A BYU study found the amount of money made by a couple was not necessarily a factor in their happiness, unless one or both spouses put a high value on material things. In those cases, the amount of money being made did not matter, because one or both would become unhappy if material goals were not met.

The authors of the study say couples can ease that tension in the marriage by focusing on simpler goals and not comparing their lifestyle to those of other couples.
