(KSL News) A proposed non-nuclear test in the Nevada Desert has been canceled, but residents are still concerned. A lawyer for some of the opponents say they fear the government will simply scale down plans and mount smaller experiments.
The National Nuclear Security Administration has already announced its new design for the next generation of atomic weapons. And President Bush has repeatedly asked Congress to approve funding to allow the Nevada test site to resume testing within 18 months.
The lawyer says she'll seek dismissal of the lawsuit that blocked the test. A hearing has been set for April.
