LINDON, Utah (AP) -- A West Jordan man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a big flat-screen TV.
The incident happened at a Wal-Mart store in Lindon. That's where police say a store clerk witnessed a 24-year-old man switching price tags on a television and vacuum cleaner.
A police report says the man then had his wife go through the check stands to pay for the items, while he left the store. Officers say the woman paid $90 for the TV set and $39.88 for the vacuum.
Police, however, stopped the woman as she was leaving the store.
According to the police report, the original price of the television was $987, while the vacuum was $378.42.
Police say the man later admitted to changing the UPC codes. He was arrested and booked into jail for investigation of retail theft.
