NEW YORK, Aug 16, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Crooner Harry Connick Jr. has already starred in movies and on TV and now he's tackling Broadway in a revival of "The Pajama Game."

The revival of the 1955 Tony-award winning show will be part of the Roundabout Theater Co.'s 40th anniversary season and is scheduled to open March 2, 2006, at the American Airlines Theater, the Hollywood Reporter said.

The original opened on Broadway May 13, 1954, starring John Raitt, Janis Paige and Eddie Foy Jr. It launched the career of chorus girl Shirley MacLaine when she subbed for ailing second-lead Carol Haney, the Reporter said.

The revival will be choreographed and directed by Kathleen Marshall.
