(KSL News) A 58-year-old North Carolina man was killed when his race car flipped at the Bonneville Salt Flats east of Wendover, Utah.
John Beckett was competing in the Bonneville National Speedweek time trials in his 1930s Crosley competition

coupe.
Beckett crashed at the five-mile mark of the seven-mile track, just as he was reaching top speed -- of 200 miles per hour.
Paramedics found Becket strapped inside his car, which despite the speed and impact of the crash, was mostly intact.
Investigators are examining the car, trying to determine what caused it to roll.
