SALT LAKE CITY -- The Outdoor Retailer show opened this week.

Organizers say it's a chance to show off the state -- and hopefully bring new businesses to Utah.

The All Mountain Demo -- the first event of the show, held at Snowbasin Resort -- gave attendees the chance to test out hundreds of new products.

But perhaps the best thing to come out of the convention for the state is free publicity.

Jonie Wall of the Ogden Weber Convention and Visitors Bureau said, "It helps with the visibility and exposure of what we have to offer here in Weber county."

On Thursday the convention moves down to Salt Lake City, where approximately 1,200 attendees will further test products from hundreds of exhibitors.

The Outdoor Retailer show runs Jan. 21 through 24 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
