OREM -- Prosecutors filed murder charges Tuesday against an Orem man accused of stabbing his wife.
Police were called to the home of Roberto Ramirez and his wife, Norma Villalobos Guzman, on Jan. 4 for an apparent domestic dispute. At the scene, police found the two had been stabbed.
Guzman died at the hospital later that day after suffering a fatal stab wound to the chest.
Investigators determined Ramirez had stabbed her several times. After undergoing treatment for his own stab wounds, police booked him into jail.
Prosecutor Ryan Peters said, "He was arrested upon his release from the hospital, and the judge has set half a million dollars as his bail."
In addition to murder charges, he faces domestic violence and weapons charges.
He was appointed a public defender to represent him.
